Personality Base Categories

1. News Caster of the Year: A category designed for news anchor with a radio station with a news bulletin of more than 30 minutes and must have anchored the news for more than 6 months within the year under review. Its unisex and voting based.
2. Sports Presenter of the Year: The Sports presenter award is for a presenter who presents a sports-focused show and shows an in-depth passion for sport and an ability to translate this passion into presentation that informs, entertains and educates the listener and which adds value to the listeners’ experience. The said nominee must have hosted the program for more than 6 months within the year under review.
3. Programs Producer: This category is open to the unsung heroes of radio – those people who conceptualize and sustain a block of programming during the day or night. Producers have to have an intricate knowledge of their audience and make sure the presenter is delivering accordingly. This category focuses them. It is set to acknowledge the hard work they do behind the scenes.
4. Morning Show Host of the Year. A tenacious personality who commands the airwaves in the morning qualifies for nomination. Programming within the hours of 6:30am to 10:00am will be considered.
5. Mid-morning Show Host of the Year: A personality based category for on air programs airing within the hours of 10:00 am to Mid- day.
6. Blogger of the Year: A category created to reward the best blogger in the region. Here, critical attention will be paid to originality of content, online traffic and social media followers and interactions.
7. Promoter of the Year: A personality based category for an off air or on air personality contributing to bringing out eastern talent and music.
8. Entertainment Show Host of the year. Designed to reward a well-crafted content based entertainment program under the year in review.
9. ERMEA Media Personality of the Year: This category is designed as the top most award for a media personality in the region’s media fraternity who has distinguished him/her self with great handwork and impact when it comes to the media in the region.
10. DJ of the Year: This category is Set out to acknowledge Radio and TV D.Js
11. Male Presenter of the Year: An outstanding Male media personality on air within the year of under review. Critical attention will be paid to Content, style of presentation, listenership and social media following.
12. Female Presenter of the Year: An outstanding Female on air personality within the year of assessment. Critical attention will be paid to style, listenership base and social media following.
13. Drive Time Host of the Year: This category is open to the any presenter who plays the major leading role in hosting the Afternoon Drive show typically between 14:00 and 18:00 (but not limited to these times) on weekdays.
14. Reporter of the Year: This category is for all eastern region based reporters who report for the various radio or tv station be it in the region or out.
15. Emerging Media Personality of the Year: This category seeks to appreciate and award young talents in the media space (Tv/Radio) who are emerging into the space.
16. ERMEA Pride Personality: This category is designed to specifically acknowledge media personalities from the region who have made it to other media organizations and are doing great works and representing the Eastern Region. This category is not limited to only on air personalities but all in the media (TV/Radio)

Station/Program Based Categories

1. News Program of the Year:  This category is set to reward news program running for 30 minutes more. Segments in the news is a critical factor to getting nomination. It’s voting based.
2. sports Program of the Year: This category is dedicated to a sports program airing on both TV and Radio. Critical attention will be paid to the sports crew and the number of segments as well.
3. Religious Program of the Year: This category is dedicated to awarding a religious programs airing on both TV and Radio. 
4. Health Related Program of the year: This category is dedicated to awarding a health program airing on both TV and Radio. Critical attention will be paid to the impact of the show and how it helps address health problems.
5. Political program of the Year: The category is designed to award political programs aired on both radio and tv with great in-depth knowledge of political issues and impact.
6. Station of the Year: A voting based category to acknowledge the best station in the Region under the year of review.

New Categories

1. Media Personality (Zona A – Koforidua, Bunso and Suhum ): This category is designed as the top most award for a media personality Zone A in media fraternity who has distinguished him/her self with handwork, exceptional leaderships, good use of the media, influential and impactful when it comes to the media in the said Zone. 
2. Media Personality (Zona B – Kwahu, Nkawkaw, Abirim & Afram Plains ) : This category is designed as the top most award for a media personality Zone B in media fraternity who has distinguished him/her self with handwork, exceptional leaderships, good use of the media, influential and impactful when it comes to the media in the said Zone. 
3. Media Personality (Zona C – Somenya, Adukrom, Akropong and Assesewa ): This category is designed as the top most award for a media personality Zone C in media fraternity who has distinguished him/her self with handwork, exceptional leaderships, good use of the media, influential and impactful when it comes to the media in the said Zone. 
4. Media Personality (Zona D – Asamankese, Kade, Oda ): This category is designed as the top most award for a media personality Zone D in media fraternity who has distinguished him/her self with handwork, exceptional leaderships, good use of the media, influential and impactful when it comes to the media in the said Zone.
