The Eastern Region Media Excellence Awards (ERMEA) successfully hosted its 8th Edition on 27th March 2026 at the Capital View Hotel in Koforidua, bringing together key stakeholders, media professionals, and industry leaders for a night dedicated to celebrating excellence within the region’s media landscape.
The event, held under the theme “Amplifying Voices, Shaping the Eastern Narrative,” once again reaffirmed ERMEA’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the dedication, professionalism, and impact of media practitioners across the Eastern Region and beyond.
The awards night was marked by elegance, excitement, and a strong sense of community, as nominees and awardees gathered to celebrate achievements across various categories including presenting, reporting, production, blogging, and media management.
One of the major highlights of the evening was the presentation of the ultimate award — Media Personality of the Year, which recognized an individual whose work, influence, and consistency have significantly shaped the media space within the region. Other key categories such as Male Presenter of the Year, Female Presenter of the Year, DJ of the Year, Blogger of the Year, and Reporter of the Year also saw deserving winners being honored for their outstanding contributions.
In addition to competitive categories, the awards scheme also recognized distinguished individuals under special honors such as the ERMEA Pride Personality, celebrating media professionals from the Eastern Region who are making remarkable impact on larger platforms beyond the region.
Delivering remarks at the event, the Team Lead of ERMEA, AJ Willz, emphasized the importance of unity, professionalism, and ownership within the media industry. He called on media practitioners to continue supporting the scheme, noting that ERMEA belongs to the region and its growth depends on collective effort. He also hinted at exciting plans for future editions, especially as the scheme approaches a significant milestone in the coming years.
The night was further enlivened with engaging performances and networking opportunities, creating a memorable experience for attendees. Big thanks to FonGo, distributers of Oppo Phones for their support, as the ultimate winner walked home with the new A6 Oppo Phone.
Despite the success of the event, management acknowledged a few operational challenges encountered during the night and assured stakeholders of continuous improvement in future editions.
The Eastern Region Media Excellence Awards continues to stand as a key platform for promoting excellence, encouraging healthy competition, and strengthening the media ecosystem within the region.
As the curtains close on the 8th Edition, anticipation already builds for what promises to be an even bigger and more impactful celebration in the next edition.
